Two-minute brand film for a surf lifestyle label — shot over four days on the Oregon coast. Direction, DP, color, and final cut.
The brief was a two-minute brand film. The reality was four days on the Oregon coast in October, shooting in weather that decided not to cooperate on day two.
That turned out to be the film. We abandoned the shot list after the first morning and started following the light — grey, diffuse, completely uncooperative for product work and perfect for everything else. The footage we came back with had a texture the client hadn't expected and couldn't have asked for.
Post ran two weeks: offline cut, color grade in DaVinci, sound mix with field recordings from the coast. The final cut landed 600K organic views in the first month. It now runs as a loop in the brand's flagship store.
